Canada was founded by pirates, a historical occupation of restless, colonizing deviants. Violent plundering was encouraged as patriotic during Elizabethan rule, as it is by all nations during times of war and expansion. Alexander Selkirk, the original “Robinson Crusoe” spent four years alone on Juan Fernandez Island after mutinying the Cinque Ports. He passed the time in sexual relations with the local goats.
